No-Drill Transom Wheels for Inflatable Boats

So my YouTube algorithm just showed me someone had posted that BoatsToGo (USA?) had made this new product for pre-order…

Interesting idea -
Discuss!

They look like a pain to change from up position back to down position in the water. They will have to go deep into the water, requiring a deep reach in a small space.

Although they have support under the transom, I could see hitting a rock or something and them bending backwards, and out from under the transom.

I'd buy these instead...for three times as much. The larger wheels are what I used on my Zodiac as it was around 500lbs, and rolled across soft sand without issue.

They definitely wouldn't fit on the Volaire.

I think design is a bit convoluted… lots of joints that could break. Also I could see them making marks on the boat worse than a couple of neatly drilled holes.

But thought I’d post on here anyway to amuse the folks.

250lbs / 114kg max weight limit isn't much. I think it's a solution to a problem (drilled holes) that doesn't really exist.

Yep worth posting Tonus. I could see one use, for dealer show and showroom display boats.

Otherwise as Peter C says the possibility of a rearward force pulling them out from supporting the transom and the clamps jumping off seems a risk. Also on some of our longer setup to launch trundles I could see them wearing the fabric where it is glued to the bottom of the transom.

Yeh I agree Fenlander - the right-angles on which the boat sits so seem to have some kind of protection or pad. The whole thing looks a wee bit dodgy to me - too many moving parts!

Wow this product is not even out yet and it's been utterly destroyed by this loving community!!

Hope the patent and pre production models didn’t cost you too much
