I was given a Redcrest a while back, and it was in a bit of a state, having laid deflated in the bottom of an open boat for more years than I can remember.
I was going to cut it up for the hypalon, but having had a bit of a look at it I decided to pump it up. Apart from one leaky valve it was okay.
Now it's got a new volcano valve and It's been cleaned up it's just about perfect: no patches, scratches or other nasties. I bought an inflatable floor out of a something or other for £30, and under that is a big pool noodle which lifts the bow and keeps me fairly dry.
So why am I rambling on about it? Well it's obviously old, so can anyone decypher the code so that I know how old it is?

Our Redstart is a mere 25 years old. We've owned and tried to look after it from new, absolutely love it as a compact dinghy for the sailing yacht and would never change it!
Congrats on rescuing yours, hope you can now enjoy it!
Great little inflatables, in some ways ahead of their time with hypalon build. That said, they are too shallow in terms of freeboard depth. Fine as a tender, I have an Avon 8, and regularly row from the rib to a beach, but not out in the open ocean.
I put my auxilliary engine on mine and it ploughs rather than planes.
