Old Zodiac model 2240, XDC 926 M83V. Questions about material and type

Hi all

I just joined this forum, and it seems to be the perfect place for users of inflatable boats.

A friend gave me an old 3.8 mt length. Zodiac he was going to throw it away. He does not know much about it, as the boat was of his father.

The fabric bottom near the stern needs to be changed, since the original lost flexibility, perhaps because gasoline residues that have remained along the years, and it's getting a bit rigid. The keel also have to be sticked again, but I'm definitely determined to repair the boat.

The rest of the boat looks good. No scratches, tubes joints and fabric ok, plywood in good condition, the transom seems in perfect condition.

In order to purchase the right fabric for the bottom -and the right glue-, I need to know without any doubt the boat material: PVC, Hypalon, etc.

I would also like to know if it is a MK1 or MK2 type, since there are no references in the boat. The only information is that contained in the nameplate attached to the transom which reads exactly as follows:

*****************************
* MODEL: 2240
* TOTAL WEIGHT: Kg 60
* TOTAL WEIGHT: Lb 134
* MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PERSONS: 5/6
* WEIGHT CAPACITY: Kg Lb 1200
* MAXIMUM HORSE POWER: 40
* CONTROL NUM:-This is the serial num-
*
* XDC 926 M83V
*****************************
Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks to all

Antonio

If it's really an old sib and fabric is smooth to touch it's Hypalon made, a 3.80 sib should be a MK2-C, post some pics if possible.

Happy Sibbing
