Oversized outboard on small inflatable

Hi all,

I have a zodiac cadet 2.7 which I run with a 6hp mercury 4 stroke. I really like the boat good stability and gets up on plane with me alone like that.
I also have a big old mariner 15 hp long shaft that must weigh around 55kg compared to the 28kg or so of the mercury. Anyways I put this on the back and it planed with a friend on board and flew along was great fun!
Was initially stern heavy but weight distribution quickly solved that.
The thing is that the max outboard the manufacturer recommends is a 6hp so the 15hp is much above that.
Im sure people will think it's a bad idea from a safety standpoint.
But I'm wondering has anyone tried something similar. It's just that my concern is the transom being damaged by such a large engine. However the largest cadet 350 looks like it has the same transom thickness and attachment points and holds up to a 55kg engine. Any thoughts apart from telling me I'm stupid
Cheers

This question comes up pretty often - call me a cynical old git but in all cases it seems the OP knows it's not a great idea and always gives the same justifications but wants someone to tell him all will be well...!

Well, sticking a 55 kg 15 hp long shaft engine on a 9 ft long rubber boat designed for a max 6 hp is a pretty silly idea - might be fun for a while though.
