Painting timber transom - black epoxy?

Hi all,
A little Avon 4m that I picked up has a timber transom, currently varnished.

The timber itself is in good nick, apart from needing a few little bits filled in....
1) Is there such thing as a hard timber filler? (I know you can get timber filler but don't think it would withstand a transom... more for home use)

2) At the end of the season, I plan to sand it down and tidy it up. I plan to treat it with wood preserver and leave to dry.
After that, I want to seal / protect as much as possible. I'd like to paint it black. Is there such thing as a suitable 2-in-1 epoxy black paint?

If not, what steps should I take and what products should I use?

Many thanks.

RIBase
You could fill it with epoxy. There are a few filler materials that are suitable - micro balloons / glass bubbles.

International do the full range from filler to top coat.

On the above link select the professional use option.

Or West Systems stuff
https://www.westsystem.com/ which is available in the UK.

Use good old automotive panel filler, works for me, it's oil based where as generally all wood fillers are water based. Better to seal the damaged wood with primer paint then fill rather than just slap the filler into a neat exposed wood hole.
