Power setup for my SIB

Well we have a 12v auto bilge pump and battery but I love my gadgets so I am now adding a 20w solar panel to feed into a switch panel with USB & 12v connections.

This will allow the panel to trickle charge the battery to keep pump available and also I can than stick on my tablet running Navtronics app & keep the GPS/VHF charged too.

Its a bit of an overkill but will make life easier and Im all for that. Will add a white Nav light on a pole so we can do some night time runs in the Sound too.

Its all going in a small snaplock box so will be IP64 at least (dust proof & splash proof)

Will post pics when all assembled at weekend...

You might want to add a diode so the panel doesn't consume power overnight.

We probably don't - but we do leave it in a marina sometimes and so its more a backup for then, had it from the previous boat also for same reason.

PS can I ask why 763 - as it was my class entry when I joined the Navy...lol!
