Pressure Gauge Purchase Survey

Hola UK sibbers and ribbers as well, just to better the sib's peformance of members of this communeety, there is the possibility that John stocks some nice and relaible state of art pressure gauges that have personally recommended in Ribnet. They are made by a reputed & experienced Italian marine Company.

John would like to know how many sibbers/ribbers would be intersted in purchasing them to evaluate how many to order, shipping costs to UK, the larger the quantity, the better user final priced. This manometer comes with standard Halkey Roberts Valves adapter. If your system is different, you can remove the adapter and make yourself a adapter that fits your valve system, anyway it's a excellent start. Very easy and accurate to read outside or inside sib.

If interested, post your vote for one here, to evaluate quantity required.

Happy Sibbing

I would be up for a trial of one, looked at the boat show and did not find one. Was told ages ago what pressure to run my tubes but without checks it is a nightmare.

I just whack the tubes with my fist... if it bounces off they don't need air if it doesn't bounce off they do.

So what pressure should the tubes be then? I've always gone for the fist approach, but have been concerned when going from winter to summer and part deflate my tubes after every coldish day out in antisipation of a hot sunny day

Do you do the same with your car tires ? The purpose of using a pressure gauge is to assure long lasting tube seals and transom free ungluing problems due to bending issues, specially if using a max engine HP rated for that sib. Will make the entire floor and side joiners to have a perfect countour tight fit inside sib. If you have not used one before, nor pretend to use one in a future, don't give light nonsense answers, the purpose of this survey is to encourage the use of them, not the opposite.

Surely the purpose of a survey is to establish the market need not to promote a product - otherwise it is sales activity! A response that someone does not see a need or desire the purchase is just as valid as one that does - it should help you extrapolate the wider market requirement. PS - my tubes don't blow up so I don't need one!

What, for an Osculati one, they must have found out your a rib nobba! Who are TG Marine, surely not an agent for them.

I think the last time I bought one, it came via Superyacht Doc's in the Hamble, I have bought direct from Osculati in the past, but they do have a minimum order policy.

Zodiac has different type of air valves, better get the original as other gauges won't fit zodiac valves, other brands gauges, mostly comes fitted with Halker Roberts Valves adapters which are completely different.
