Question regarding mounting foldable seats on YAM

Hi all !

I'm a proud owner of my new Yam 330.
Unfortunately the bench is sitting like crap if you are on the water for hours.
So I'm searching for some alternatives.

I just bought these foldable fishing seats

My idea is to mount this underneath:

And attach this with some screws directly on the bench.
So it looks like this in the end:

What do you guys think about this? or any other mounting ideas / alternatives?
Thanks !!

My instant reaction would be, is that going to restrict tiller control?

Well.. in this position I should have not any problems ..
I DO need to adjust the height so it doesn't touch the tubes.

What do you think?

Aside from raisng the foldable seat as not to damage the side tube as seen on posted pic, the other downside will be how firm will the transversal seat hold onto both side seat holders which wlll eventually rock back and forth when combo is on its way, much worse when encountering chopp/windy water cond, escenario in which both hooks can become easily unhooked..

My take is mount it the opposite side to your steering position whilst underway fold it down then when fishing a comfy seat creacher comforts a must while you reel in the big ones.

I guess this will work ..
Maybe get rid first of some wood edges with some sandpaper.

The weight is more equil divided in this way.. and no screws or sharp edges touch the tube

I tried a bunch of different options on my small sib and nothing really worked well. The small boat just bounced too much and the higher up you go with the seat the more you bounce around and loose any way to brace yourself.

You won't be able to lean back because it will pull out of the seat hooks. You need to brace the seat board but then it gets all sorts of complicated with the tubes flexing.
You can try mounting your piece of wood transversely and attach it to the transom some how to support the seat when you sit back. You can try to use a stiff bungy cord to attach the board to one of those holes on your transom. That way it will flex with the tubes.

I gave up trying to configure a "seat" and just throw some cushions on the floor and either sit on the floor or sit sideways with my feet sticking out the other side when I want to go fast or its bouncy. I am tall and even with a seat it was too low to the ground to be comfortable for my legs.

Good luck. If you do come up with something that would be great and I will copy. LOL

Extending 2 horizontal plastic, metal, wooden tubesf from transversal seat sides and locking them to both upper transom's sides would be a good idea, at least the seat won't be pulled off from the hooks when leaning back, will work as a seat stopper along anchoring the seat better against both side hooks.

Other cheap alternative, add to the transversal seat a cushion bed to the full extention and secure it under the seat with velcro patches along the seat stopper.

A nicer but more costier alternative : buy an air deck for that size Sib, extend it fully on top of the alum deck, inflate it till firm, tiller drive while sitting on top at your favorite comfy position, excellent alternative to distribute weight forward and plane the combo much faster if needed. If fishing be careful with the hooks...

The OP's rides a 330 Mtr. Sib. But he could trow away the transversal seat, fabricate a wooden base, sit the bench to it and bolt the lower base to the alum floor with self tapping screws longenough to hold well. The bench must sit at a proper height for a comfy tiller drive.

So now you have 2 rocking seats instead of one, LOL. What have you done so far to properly lock in place both suspended tranversal seats that are locked to both side patched holders ?
