Quicksilver 3.4m on eBay looks a good deal

Nothing to do with me but flagging it up as a few people have been looking for an air floor 3.4m or so lately on here:

This came on last night and looks a good deal for a 2005 boat with launch wheels:

Quicksilver Aerodeck 3.4Mtr Dinghy on eBay (end time 09-Jul-11 21:27:43 BST)

Yes looks a useful prospect... as he's enabled the offer box you might assume it would come for £450 or so. I see he is also listing the Yamaha 15hp he's used with it. Nice motor... slight shame there's a bad scratch on the cowl. In truth compared with what other used packages are going for he perhaps should give the boat away with the outboard at the £1500 asking.

Hehe hey, thanks! What's going on over there, everyone's getting rid of them?
Think I could get one of those with me on ryan air? :P Everyone requires local pick up, could be a problem for me... Have never been to the UK though, perhaps I should hit two birds with one stone.

Which one of those is the better boat? Futura is more expensive new, but is it better? Two keels and so on.

My thoughts on those two specific boats...

The Futura is a far more expensive boat new and should be a little more sporty in its handling.... but they're both still SIBs at the end of the day.

They are very close in size but the Futura weighs another 25lbs.

The Cadet comes with it's oars, pump, seat, other bits and genuine Zodiac transom wheels that cost £150 new.

The Futura is just the boat in its bag with no wheels or paddles... actually no mention it even has a pump.

The Futura is listed as a 2005 but linking to Zodiac series numbers says it is a 1999.

The Futura isn't too far from me and had it been a little better with more kit I'd have bought it already.

Futura has a rigid GRP floor doesn't it David - so will only pack as small as the floor area I guess? Like an Avon Rover Compact?

Weirdly they were available with both which means there's quite a confusing range overlap between Futura, Classic & Cadet. I think you've a brochure from the age of that one which might just show the different models?? I've just looked and they still do either floor type in all three sizes.

I don't need another boat but if that one had been complete with all kit as new it was cheap and I fancied the experience of one.

Cheers David.

Patrik - you won't find a better deal than this Bombard, engine and trailer for £995, again just listed this afternoon:

that was quick. I didn't even have time to check the forum before that was gone. However, I don't understand if that was a RIB or a SIB? Isn't "aerodeck" and "rib" contradicting?

Over all, both the prices and the choices are so much better in UK than in Sweden (as expected of course). Too bad most boats on ebay wont be shipped, just picked up locally

The Bombard 380 is a SIB but the nearest thing to a RIB in a fully collapsable package.

I was thinking of this one:
Bombard Areodeck RIB 15HP Suzuki Outboard Snipe trailer | eBay UK

I suppose the 380 is the only one with the V-shape and good handling in choppy sea?

I did see the first one, it's been removed now... But thought it was pricey aswell. I've asked the other person some questions

I'd be suprised if there was much difference in performance in a choppy sea between a Bombard 380 and Zodiac or other flatter hull sibs. Surely the length of the boat is the main thing?
