Quicksilver 340 Airdeck Help Please

Hi All,

I have recently bought a used Quicksilver 340 Airdeck.

I have discovered under the air floor there should be a "Thrust Board" unfortunatly it is missing Arghh !.

Does Anyone owns a 340 who could accuratly measure their one for me so I can make a new one over the weekend ? Please Please

I am not sure if its a true rectangle shape or not , One side may be longer than the other ?

Please help Thankyou !!

It's a trapezoid as you suspected. I have the 2.7m so can't give you precise dimensions. However, it sits loosely in the hoops of the airdeck and should fit snuggly under the inflated tubes where they meet the bottom "hull" skin seam. The edges are chamfered, sanded and painted/varnished to avoid fraying the tubes. The keel tube fits below this thrust board and pushes up against it with some force. I can't see the boat working well without it while planing.

The material is light ply - without checking I'd say 10mm?

HTH

Just a thought - inflate the SIB with the floor upside down. Mark the strap locations on the tubes in tape, remove the deck and make a template from heavy cardboard.

It was for 340, but 310 seems to come up with same dimensions

Dimensions

This one is a spare I picked up from Defender for $25 (overlaid it over the one in the boat and is identical), for the price figured would do something else with the time (tunnels for boy's train set). Note that it is vinyl wrapped thus need to deduct 0.5" from the lengths in the photo to arrive at the dimensions of the wood.

Trapezoid: height 8", bottom 34", top 33", thickness 0.5"

This seems to suggest the board is rectangular, as per the attached photo it is a trapezoid.

I may get to see one on Friday and can clarify whether its trapezoid or rectangle. The microfiche schematic looks like a rectangle . It's quoting quicksilver mercury marine, and is also stating the same part for Loadstar & some other models.

I would just drop EP Barrus an email. They have always been excellent about sending me CAD drawings of bits that I have requested.

Yes that would certainly be helpful, because Willk who stated it was a trapezoid (post #2) and Lineofsight who posted a photo (post #16) with the measuring tapes showing the dimensions are probably in collusion wanting a good laugh by tricking people into a trapezoid thrust board...

Do you think they bought our story?

Frankly, it's a simple job to make one and this whole thread is overkill...
