Rechargeable air pump

Hasn’t been a ‘what pump’ thread on here for a while so thought I’d fix that!

Historically always went with rechargeable high volume two stage dedicated boat pumps from the likes of Bravo/Genova, but fed up with high prices and heavyweight, a good few years back tried a couple of cheapies from Sevylor and Hiks. The single stage Sevylor pumping 190l/m became our go to pump for both sibs and rib, the only downside being it requires an external battery/12v supply.

With the booming sup and air tent markets there’s now a plethora of Chinese pumps available and recently noticed a neat looking compact rechargeable air pump from Wetline. With a built in 4400mah battery, 20psi capacity, digital display, two stage inflation, USB charging cable and the usual half dozen connectors thought it was worth a punt.

Arrived today and initial thoughts looks ok. Compact, solid, lightweight and easy to use. It is of course a relatively low volume pump with only 240/70 litre/min two stage outputs so not super quick for a full inflate from scratch. Not that critical for us as keep sibs partially inflated in season, so just topping up before and during use. Won’t be as quick as our single stage 190 litre/min Sevylor but having an inbuilt battery will compensate for that, especially if we decide to take it onboard.

Not cheap by any means but can be found at just under £70 from a few marine retailers at present.

That looks interesting. Would it take up any less space than the standard Bravo 2-stage bellows pump as supplied new with an Aerotec? It's surprising how much room that takes up in a bag and I often ponder if there is a neater alternative

Probably not much bigger as it’s a compact unit at 18 x 19 x 8cm plus hose, but weighs considerably more at 1.4kg.
Ideal to carry aboard in my book, as long as you can keep it dry. It will also charge a phone/handheld garmin etc via a usb outlet with the right cable
