Ahh yes... that's where we stayed a couple of houses up from the slip. With the SIB ready set up on the drive for two weeks being yards from the slip made it so easy to launch but on several occasions it was a bit frustrating to wait for the water to get near enough the slip.
Its a beautiful spot @Fenlander! Those cottages are my 'dream house' by the way

Yes the outlook from their waterside gardens was amazing.

Good to see you managed a nice enough day to get the Honwave inflated. You should be able to chase down that keel air loss OK. Always look very carefully at the valve cap final seal first. Then if not that hopefully just a pin prick somewhere. It will be a bit more of a pain if its from the transom end of the keel if it is finished in a folded over and glued style.

Pic below of our 3.5 with a minty Mariner 15 2-stroke... one of several lovely outboards I've owned and wished I hadn't moved on when a few years later needing one just like it. That 15 suited it well assuming getting on the plane was important unless 4 up when really a 20 was needed.

Do you think you might get a chilly outing on the water soon?

That looks a very nice example of the HW 3.5 Fenlander!

Re: Getting out on the boat, it really depends on what the coming weeks hold in terms of easing the lockdown. But if I'm at least ready for it with the boat all setup then I can go at a moments notice. I work self employed from home as a design engineer, so if the weathers good I can usually just kind of ignore work for a few hours and get out there.

Plenty of bits I want to sort first and in fairness the boat probably won't be set up as I would like it until April/May time anyway. Would like to get out onto the river just to test the motor etc. in mid-late March if lockdown allows though....

Left it inflated for a couple of days to check for leaks and I do think I have one in the keel that runs below the floor, so will have to sort that, but the main tubes were all nice and hard still.

It was also the first opportunity to try out my Decathlon Itwit electric pump. Worked well I must say.

Anyway, being an excitable type I had to take some pics haha

Get the poor lass some shoes. Or is that part of your plan to stop her escaping? [emoji6]

I thought that... but probably not worth putting coat and shoes on if The Chase was on in a few minutes.

Nice looking Bug BTW.

When she starts paying some board maybe that's my daughter wondering why I'm so excited about a rubber ring

I had a very independent thinking uncle who ran three Beetles then three 1500/1600 Variants one after the other at a time most folks had Cortinas. I had his 1500 Variant as my second car and the sound/feel of those old VWs is still embedded.

I have caught 7 mice in my shed this winter, hopefully they havent chewed my sib. Trapping them has been a rewarding hobby during the lockdown

You may have seen my other post requesting help with wiring the new kill switch I needed for my outboard. Well that's all fitted up now and the outboard serviced, here's a short video of a test run of the motor post service. Everything looked very nice when I took it apart and it probably didn't technically 'need' the service, but since I personally had never seen it serviced I thought it a good idea to do. Before I serviced it though I gave it a tug and it actually started first time. Never had that before! I'm taking it as a good sign
