[QUOTE=xs 400;447697]my boat is not big enough or quick enough to join a ribfest
QUOTE]
Rubbish !( in nice jokey way ) A few years ago there was an searider gathering ( ok it was a general get together in the solent ) and a member -BamBam went all over the solent in a 3.8 rib with 30hp alongside all sorts of other RIBS.
I take my little Avon out and posatively blasted along the seafront on Saturday adding all of 50hp to the 700 (ish) horses out and about !

i love it when someone says my opinion to which I thought I was entitled is RUBBISH!
If you dont agree with my view or you feel it is mis placed thats fine.......give me yours.
the issue for me is that going any distance on the sea is a concern, and I would be much happier doing that in a group.
I base my view on watching many ribfest on youtube, anglesey, nacho, etc the boats are big, engines gen 100+ and the speeds are in excess of my boat.
the last thing I want is to spoil there day....................hence my opinion

Apologies I didn't mean to come across wrongly , but honestly one of the great things about people on here is thier ability to stick together. I can 100% guarantee even if you thought you were -you wouldn't spoil anyones day.
If you felt unhappy on the water and wanted to turn back then another boat would go with you. I've done the Nacho run twice accompanied by much bigger boats...( youtube 'two boats in a sea' ) .

c)type of boat
d)camping or no camping
e)where from needs ample parking
i say safety in numbers is best, but we do need to remember it is sib fest,

in the past a sea rider gathering allowed other brands of boats.
IMHO - safety in numbers and if I would personally think having a RIB's with you would not ruin it !
But I am in Scotland so I will not be attending -
but reminds of George Orwell
" two legs good , 4 legs bad"
you might find the weather too bad and be glad of a rid on a RIB.
