Seapro 340HD Launching

Hello,
I've Recently Ordered A Seapro 34OHD With A Parsun 9.9HP Outboard. The Boat Will Be Inflatated And Deflated On Arrival As There Is No Need For The Trailer, I'm Looking For A Safe Place To Launch The Boat Which Isn't To Far From The Brighton Beach Area. I've Looked About Launching It On Brighton Beach But Its Packed During The Summer Time. Does Anyone Know Of Any Good Beaches Or Good Places Where You Can Park And Where I Can Launch The Boat.

Many Thanks.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Are you new to boating and/or the sea?

Unless it's a super calm day, and will be so on return, beach launches are not the best at any time never mind trialling a new outfit. As you say too, popular beaches are about people and boats with outboards don't really mix.

Is there anywhere to put in at Shoreham? Or Newhaven?

Hello, Thanks For The Reply,
I'm New To Boating With This Size, I've Kayaked Before Out On Sea With Beach Launches But This Is A Completly Different Scenario. I Can Travel To Shoreham & Newhaven, Thats Not A Problem I'm Just Looking For A Calm Beach Which Isn't To Popular Or A Slipway Which Dosen't Cause To Much To Launch From.

Many Thanks

Try looking at boat launch
https://www.boatlaunch.co.uk/

That coast line Shoeham to Newhaven has generally steep pebble beaches. I would avoid unless an light off shore wind away from people.

Hi DGaz, are you actually based in Slough as per your profile? If so, is there any particular reason you want to launch around Brighton, or do you just want to get on the water? If so, you might want to look west a bit - once you get to Chichester you will start to find harbour launches in both Chi and Langstone harbours that are going to be easier for you than launching over shingle onto an open beach, and just as close (or closer) to Slough. One suggestion would be Itchenor, where you can launch on a hard shingle ramp at just about any state of tide into Chichester harbour. Parking is a 5 minute walk away, at about a fiver or so depending on how long you plan to stay out. There are some other recent threads on here about launching in Langstone I think.

I would say Shoreham next to the lighthouse, used my many sib's with free parking right on the top of the beach. Beware low tide though, pretty nasty smelling mud.

I'd be inclined to agree. The beaches around there all seem to be stone as well as packed. And frankly, while not a fan of bringing a powered boat into a beach with people in the fist instance, Brighton Beach strikes me as possibly the worst beach in Britain to even try that with. It's full of stones, stoners and the professionally offended operating on overtime to seek out and assault lesser human beings such as the despised 'normals'.

I'd probably prefer to find an estuary to launch from instead, such as Shoreham.

Having said that, I would personally bin that bit of coast of departing from Sluff and instead head to somewhere a little further West such as Chichester Harbour where there is real sand, some non tidal slips, mellow people and a reasonable speed limit?
