just one question though, will the split pin need to be replaced after removal of the prop? or generally speaking it wouldnt be damaged enough to be concerned.
if the pin does need to be replaced, does it need to be a specific marine pin or just one from the local hardware store?

and dont lose any of the thrust washers that goes between the the lock nut and prop or at the back of the prop if they are fitted.
Just take the spark plug leads with you. It will prevent teens to take it for a ride. If someone really wants to steal your boat - they'll do it whatever precaution steps you'll make But for that case you have insurance. Don't you?
