Servicing / Inflation Valve Replacement

Hi All,

I’ve got a leaking hijacker valve on my boat. It’s leaking between the hypalon material and the external face of the valve.

Does anyone have any advice on how to open this valve up? It looks like I need to hold the circular piece which is against the hypalon, and try to spin the nut off.

I’m not sure what I will do when I get it apart. First step would be to clean it up and try to rebuild it, but failing that, I will have to try something else. I contacted Gemini and they said they have them made specially. But, they look similar to Leafield A7/B7 valves, so I might be able to use one of them!

So I finally managed to get it apart. I cleaned everything up and put it back together. It’s 100% better than it was, but there is still maybe a pin hole sized leak on one side. I just get a very tiny slow bubble and I can hear a slight leak. I will see how long it holds air for, but I guess I need find a way to seal it fully.
