There's a few "huge engine in small SIB" videos on youtube

l imagine it's a death trap. My Zodiac 2.8m is rated to an 8hp, l've got a Tohatsu 9.8 on it and at WOT (over 18mph) it feels less stable and the steering becomes less responsive.

l wouldn't like to try it with a larger motor, and that's only 2hp over the rated hp for the boat.

That is still 25% over the recommended power

Yes it is as you say.

My point was, if my boat loses stability with a 10hp when it's recommended maximum is 8hp, what's that tiny SIB going to do with an engine that size on it.

Assuming of course it's a genuine photo and not someone photoshopped the engine on to the boat! Or just fitted for the photo and never actually used.
