Sib insurance

Tying to insure my sib with Craft insure, one of the policy agreements asks"maximum designed speed of the boat"

Basically this policy will cover me "if" the designed speed doesn't exceed 23 knotts/25mph

zodiac futura mk2 fastroller + 25hp outboard, as it's not actually a boat as such, there is no maximum designed speed, although I expect it's around 25mph...... Anyone know if this policy is suitable?

I took out a policy with craft insure last month. Ring them, they are more than helpful but when I spoke to them they did mention that to come under the 'small boat' catorgery it cannot exceed 25knots.

I think I will ring them tomorrow, It's unlikely I'd ever claim anyway, all I really want is to cover third party liability but obviously I don't wanna pay the policy fee if I'm not 100% sure I'm covered

I bet 25mph felt pretty quick :-)
I'm taking it to Windermere this weekend for my first trip, but obviously will have to stick around the 10mph speed limit..... Possibly ;-)

Wow.... Slight delay on those pics then, almost a week to send ... Lol

It all fits in car fine, inflated it last weekend as a practice run..... Just want to get out on it now, work gets in the way :-)

Don't know if it still applies but years ago there used to be a speedboat clause and cost increase if you used you inflatable faster than 17knots kept below that speed Nd it was significantly cheaper.

Sounds like the clause that craft insure have in place but they state 23 knots, sounds like each insurance company have different criteria to meet individual policy requirements

I'm getting quoted around the same for 25hp, from previous threads I've read I think most people are paying around £50 minimum

That sounds like the same policy I'm tempted to get, I was just not 100% sure if the maximum listed speed of 22 knots would cover me, although its obviously ok for your set up (almost same size sib and same HP outboard)

Also had a suite from towegate for £60 which includes towing inflatables, but dosent cover theft
