Sib rowing

Hi all

I have reverted to look for a new or good used 14’ inflatable- have abandoned the idea of a kayak-sib as it’s not big enough with the wife. Kids and camping stuff

Will the back front style of rowing work - see picture (it’s not us!)? Or shall I have another set of oar rings attached?

For long journeys, will probably get a trawling motor but we actually love the fitness rowing brings
Thanks

Trying to row a SIB (especially a lightweight air floor one) is as efficient as an arthritic slug...

It's really no fun and any kind of breeze you'll go backwards.

Hi, you may love the fitness that rowing brings but I think you'll hate the frustration of going nowhere fast! Sibs just aren't made for rowing /paddling, and definitely not a 4.2 mtr SIB. Also you said wife, kids (presumably more than 1) and camping gear, that would be very, very snug in a 4.2 mtr SIB.
Have you looked at the Boatworld 435 kayak boat, that's about as near as you'll get to what you want, but I agree I don't think it's big enough for what you are suggesting.

Does it realy need to be inflatable? It looks to me like something like an old town kayak would be far more suitable
