Sibbers and caravaners

Must be one or two on here.
Do any of you travel with the outboard in the front locker?
I don't really want to travel with it in the family car so just wondering if it would be ok in the locker on bumpy roads whether the floor will take it.
It's a 5hp 2t @ 21kg.

I don't myself as I put mine in the back of the truck, but if it fits I don't see why not Tommy. Obvious things to consider is to make sure it's well protected from being knocked/scratched and watch the nose weight of the caravan.

It's no heavier than 2 full bottles plus other junk that goes in there, just check that the floor of the locker is thick enough. It's not necessarily the weight but the point loading.
I have a pickup so not a problem in there but I did once forget to shut off the fuel tap on the 6hp internal tank and filled the back of the merc with petrol. Took a very long time to get rid of the smell!

Personally I put my SIB in the van and the engine in the back of the car rather than overload the van. I'd be hesitant putting it in the front locker as it's not the strongest and either could cause damage to each other.

I would check the noseweight and if it falls within then it should be fine.

Personally though I would carry it in the boot and put some of your lighter luggage in the caravan.
