SIBs 2023
Well we had a lovely day at the show today and we think it was the best show for a few years. Even bought a boat, Some rope and an ice cream including a flake. The Excel stand was far better this tear.
Here is a little video of our trip to the Show. If you have time it is worth a visit

Just watched, thanks very much for posting. Did you manage to see everything in one day?

The show does not start till 10am and we got in about 10.20. You can see it all in one day in general terms but if you look at much in detail one day would not be enough

SIBs 2023
Also had a good day at the show on Thursday albeit dodging a few heavy showers.
Got to touch and feel the Ukrainian Kolibri brand sibs as we’re interested in their catamaran offering which sadly is not available yet in the UK.
Had a good look around the smaller hard sports boats as unfortunately my wife’s getting increasingly keen on a shiny plastic boat with nice seats. Not keen myself but finally found something that might give us a reasonably soft yet sporty ride up here in the North Sea in the small Saxdor 200 range. Scandi design deep V twin stepped hull, open transom, and with the trendy wave piercing bow…same designer as Axopar. Sufficiently interested to go for a sea trial over winter.
Sadly, in time honoured tradition, didn’t manage to leave without buying something we don’t really need, as came away with a couple of TwoBareFeet inflatable bodyboards. Did managed to resist the show bargain Suzuki 2.5 motors at £499 though.

We went on monday & were a bit disappointed. Fine if you want to look at new boats but the chandelry stalls seem a bit thin on the ground. I was looking for 2 kids auto lifejackets & found 2 on different stalls in the entire show ended up collecting 2 from one of the exhibitors store in Southampton on the way home. It seems the costs of stalls is deterring the smaller sellers from attending. We were there 2 years ago & it was similar, a lack of smaller stands which we put down to covid & hoped this year would have more of the smaller stalls where you find something you maybe weren't looking for but fancied when you saw it. I think buying online is maybe the issue. Southampton seems to be heading in the same direction as london catering for those who want to look at new boats but not so good for those who want to do a little window shopping for none essentials. Fortunately we got free tickets, I'd of been well disappointed if id paid the full entry price

That Saxdor looks really nice chipko. We saw one moored up on the Harbour Masters Pontoon in Fowey last week. Diane's eyes lingered at little too long on it for my liking. I'm sure it was the boat she was looking at and not the 30 i'sh 6'4" blonde bloke sat in it!
The one we saw had a Merc 150 on the back. Looked a serious day boat maybe even a weekend boat with a decent canopy.
If I had the money, I'd be tempted.

I too had a really good day at the show on Thursday, despite the downpours in the morning.
It's always the same though, my dream boat is a Nord Star 36 Fly:
https://nordstar.fi/nord-star-fleet/36-plus/
They had several boats at the show and I had a look around the 28 and 36 non-fly(again)
But then on the way home the reality of our financial situation and future prospects sets in and the depression kicks in whilst feeling stupid for even dreaming about one.

Never beat yourself up about dreaming. Dreaming is good even if in the end it does not come to be.
