I know Max has in the past after linking a good looking deal put something like "if as stated, buyer beware etc".... so no disrespect to Max for linking this. But...
I just messaged the Bombard seller for the age... boat and OB are both 1998. So to anyone thinking of this one who is not au fait with them that is one of the earliest and so likely to be already suffering weak seams on the floor/transom... and if currently looking sound it will not be long before it will give trouble so you need to build in a transom and floor re-glue cost to any offer made.

Well spotted - would be interesting to know how it has held up. I'd have no worries about a '98 Mariner though - a deal for the lot around £1400/1500 would be fair maybe.

Yes totally agree re the Mariner. Split that lot's worth the Mariner at what... £1000ish as it's a pre 2000 model... nominal £100 for the Trems & Bravo pump and £600ish for the Aerotec (if currently issue free).
So yep all together it has to be £1500ish.

That outfit has been on my watch list, previously at £2450.00 now re listed at £2.2k I wasn't considering buying that particular outfit more curious as to where it would end up price wise. Does have: cover, outboard stand, wheels, pumps as extras but still strong money in my opinion more so now as it'll soon no longer be a teenager
A couple of bare aerotec's 2004/2005 on eBay currently £1250/£1350 both relisted and an outfit (boat 2005) that looked better value but went unsold http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/263018598584
15hp ts outboards on this forum have been going from £500 odd up to £900

I would always value a (near mint/enthusiast) late model (ie 2006) Mariner/Merc/Yam 15 2 smoke at £1100 - £1200 sold separately. Been that price for years now. Aerotec up to say 8 years around £800 but always go for an outfit if possible, always much better value and invariably with bits you don't need and can sell on to help the cost. Generally too they are a better buy as were often bought together (frequently 'carpeted showroom/boat show impulse buy=rarely used') with more confidence in the sale/history etc.
I'd never pay more than say £1900 for a typical outfit (ie late Aerotec, 15 as above + accessories - LJ's, anchor, wheels etc). With a more common Honwave/Zodiac Fastroller/QS etc in the 3.4m range then aim for £1500 tops for the same combo.
As GuyC has proved it's easily done although I always approach the seller as soon as an outfit is listed and agree a deal outside eBay upon viewing/ASAP and before any auction deadline.
The unsold combo you linked looks good - I'm sure an offer of cash this week for say £1700 would not be refused and then you would have done really well.
Ring them up, offer the cash and collection immediately and they surely won't say no.

Has this Aerotec been linked... I'd not noticed...
bombard aerotec 380 inflatable | eBay
Interesting it has a flexy tank similar to Max, some added wear patches, a floor peppered with repairs and the transom looks to be neatly raised with a contoured fillet.
Nice clean looking Mariner 15 and a tow toy... oh and OE transom wheels.
Bidding starts at £1800

Don't think it has been linked - I did see it but due to someone dancing in stilettos all over the floor it would put me right off! Also the transom, not sure how it's been done but I'd much rather just PU adhesive a strip of wood to the top that can be peeled off.

Yes it looks like an outfit that's evolved just as someone wished to have a lot of fun with but not worrying about "us" judgemental folks hoping for as new stuff when they came to sell.

Thanks Simon... saved me from being the voice of doom! Yes it looks great and I love a red Futura... but it's actually a 1990 model made in 1989... almost 30yrs old!

Wow, you guys do look carefully at this stuff!
They must have used decent glue in those days though as at the quick glance* I gave it it looked minty!
*Obviously if I was considering buying I'd be all over the ad with a microscope.

Still no bids on that, might make a cheeky offer on the outboard an tank if it doesn't sell.

If you can get the lot for say £1600 or a little more then you're laughing. As posted back on the last page
http://www.rib.net/forum/f50/sibs-sp...tml#post749721
buying/splitting is a great way to make money and pick up all the bits you need over a few years.
The Mariner's worth £1100, flexy tanks are not RNLI Seaflex types but still have to be £75 to maybe £100 each. Wheels £150, bow bag £50. I'd re-do all the patches neatly and the boat will make £700+ Then there the doughnut.
Not sure what that adds up to but there is plenty of potential profit for sure.
