Nice package but that is a long shaft motor and I am sure that rib should have a standard/short shaft

yeh i saw that to, i guess if the price is right someone might be happy to sacrifice a couple of knots top end speed and being more vigilant in shallow waters.

Not a SIB but a handy thing to stick in the garage for £250 or less?

Ahh hadn't noticed... as I'd just inflated mine in the garage to do a couple of jobs made me think of looking.
Looked back at that 420... if you'd particularly wanted a long one decent enough value assuming the re-glue was OK and floor holding too.

Not my one fenlander, surprised to see so many at once. I notice nobody advertises with the age of their outfit, guess most are older (10+). This just seems to be the age when most people think of selling (guess not out with kids etc). I still keep hoping I get into mine, have wondered if it is a problem with my outboard (it just feels really slow but then someone on here did say it'd be slower than my old zodiac calssic due to v hull). Have wondered if my outboard is too big being a 25 and finding a lighter, less splashy one might actually give better performance. i've been keeping an eye on eBay for an Ali floor zodiac, think i'll buy used again this time, so can sell it on if it doesn't suit, dont intend to do anything with the aerotec until i've found another/experimented a bit but dont think the bombard will ever be for me (but age doesn't seem to effect price so shouldn't matter if I sell now or in a year or two). Do like the look of the fribs but as stated, reluctant to buy anything new after the bombard and finding a secondhand one wouldn't be easy I assume.

RE age I know some folks own SIBs never realising the serial number tells you so perhaps in some cases it's ignorance of the age not them trying to hide it. I know in the past when I've asked for serial numbers and said it's too old for me folks have been (or acted) surprised.
It was certainly me who has referred to the Aerotec V as a bit draggy... particularly compared to an Frib that might be 5kts or more faster on max speed for any given OB size. That doesn't worry me though as I find the Aerotec behaves very well in the midrange which is so often where we are as we've never yet seen glassy calm since we bought it.
Yep if the Aerotec isn't for you that's fair enough and best move on when you spot something else you fancy.

OK it's not on Ebay but here. Possibly the best value vs age Aerotec package offered in ages...
http://www.rib.net/forum/f21/2016-bo...f20-78679.html
Aerotec and OB both 2016 and together with the spare prop included would be close to £5k new... for sale at £3k.

Link seems fine but as you say a cracking deal for a outfit you could run for ten years and still get probably the best part of 2/3 of that 'investment' back...

SIB's spotted on eBay thread
Ex RNLI SIB, 2 days auction left. . . . what do you reckon it will make? I think a monkey and possibly even as high as £600 it will probably need the transom replacing as it doesn't look like it's seen some new varnish for a long time. . . Nice SIB though I'm even tempted to bid lol
