That Quicksilver is good value... looks like some sort of chunky fishing version.
The Avon's a beauty... what a classic outfit to take out on sunny days.
Still have concerns over the value of the Zodiac 340... there's cheap and there's just too many faults before you can get using it. Interesting that aside from the issues that boat's suffering the lowered price relist has changed the engine description from running really well to no spark. I reckon an 80s engine with a broken tiller casting, broken choke and no spark is as close to scrap as you can get.
But that Avon... so so nice... someone has to drop on that.

Yep, when I saw that last night I nearly posted up a topic: "One for Fenlander...".
It has your name written all over it and when you think what you pay for a classic car these days it's cheap in comparison.
I think the Fastroller only needs valves = £15 or so, and ebay will turn up the breakers parts for the Mariner pretty cheap I'm sure and you'd end up with a very nice little ideal all round SIB for little money?

>>>It has your name written all over it
I know... we've just had a look at the images over coffee and Mrs F has shown signs approval would be granted if I wanted to pursue it. But really you need to live right next to the water and have that as a fun thing to pull out just for the pleasure of owning it. Truly amazing if you look at all the images it has every last bit of kit from new inc an original Avon cover that is tailored to the outboard.
Anyway... my mind is currently considering other SIB options so that would be a distraction!
It would be perfect for you and your lad though... and for him when he's a bit older... you're nearer too!!

Maybe a wee bit off topic but I've acquired a Waveco 2.3m, in fairly rough condition. By the time I'm done with it it should hold air and look fairly presentable, though I doubt it will gleam like new. What sort of value would you put on it? It'll be going on here or ebay, I want it shifted fairly quickly
cheers

Best bet is to search eBay for 'completed' listings similar to yours and look at a few to gauge average.
waveco 2.3 | eBay
For a rough used one looks like under £100.

Cheers, it's actually cleaned up a lot better than expected and should hold air perfectly now. Unfortunately it doesn't have oars or a seat, I'll probably stick it up for around £85

Stick it on at £99 or best offer - works well for this sort of thing.

If genuine that could be well worth a look because it's stated a 2007 which is newer than most that come up.
Rather overblown claim re accs "worth" £350 though... they all come with the boat apart from launch wheels which even if OE are really worth nearer £100-£150.
Hate library images though.
