I can recall a story a few years ago about an inflatable found drifting round Weymouth area I think? A charterboat skipper decided to take it in tow coz no-one on board.
Dragged the diver from beneath who was hanging on to the bowline doing a drift dive & using the inflatable as an SMB! (surface marker buoy) No 'A' flag up either.
Caused the diver to have a bend, diver tried sueing the skipper, but lost the case! Ha-ha

Besides using a visible flag on boat when snorkelling and/or spearfishing it's good to count with a proper colored floating device big enough to be seen at some distance by other passing boaters. Must be secured to your belly by a line. Never charge or keep charged any type of spearfishing gun inside sib, could be fired accidentaly puncturing your tubes or worst case scenario, killing someone aboard.

Happy Boating

I've spearfished around old Harry before and never found it that good, however head down to the other end where Swanage Bay meets that part of coastline and either fish round there or into Swanage bay and your on better ground.

The other place to consider is Durlston Bay which has some nice ground although I haven't fished there for some time.

Yep.

What's this 'No boat' then? Just because it's black doesn't mean we haven't noticed you

Gun should not come out of the water armed, let alone into the boat.

I also keep a cork on the sharp end when in the boat and get very precious over people treading on it or dumping kit on it as not to bend the spear. More relevant to rubberband guns, than comp. air.

Really?
I've been spearfishing for years, not had an incident or witnessed one touch wood.
You must've been fishing with some right gunslingin' Rambo types.

Yer an Eejit Maximus - it's not your cap, no matter how badly you want to wear it.

I'm not a fan of kneecapping - too crude. I prefer to let my victims shoot themselves. In the foot, generally...
