Yep.
3.1m SIB, 9.9hp outboard, 12l fuel tank, oars, seat, pump, launching wheels, fishing gear, etc.
A boot liner is handy to keep the car clean & dry on the way home.

I stuff both the mk1 and the mk2 zodiacs and a 15hp and a 30hp motor in the car along with other gear at the same time but my car is a 3/4ton Chevy Suburban 4x4 with a 6.5L Turbo Diesel engine When I use the old Range Rover I can only take one boat and motor.

i started leaving the trailer at home and now pack it all in the car, most times i drive 7o miles and its less hassle with speed limits ect ,
lucky for me i can get access to a power socket at the boat club and use the clubs vacume cleaner for inflating which takes less than a minuite ,

Only outboard i currently have is a 30hp Tohatsu with a console. That's too large motor for a guy of my size to handle all by myself so i'm thinking about getting a 5 or 9.8hp tiller outboard.
With that, the boat, a 25-litre gas tank and a bag of essentials (battery+pump, paddle, anchor, life jackets) i think i could fit it in a station wagon.
Manageble package for a nice day at the lake/river/bay/younameit

I always fit my old Avon Redcrest & 5hp Seagull in the boot & then sometimes have 3 kids, solid floor, fuel. oars & lifejackets as well.
I'm building a new floor for an old Avon S4-00 & then I need a larger outboard so I think the only sensible option will be a roofrack for the boat, but I'll still carry it deflated.

Used to fit a Zodiac Zed34, a 20hp Blueband and all the gear into an old Rover 418 saloon. It was a bit of a pain installing the floorboards every time.

Does anyone get a bigger boat in a smaller car?
I know people do it but have never seen the point in buying a boat that folds up and then keeping it on a trailer. Why not just get a RIB or a 'normal' boat if you have the space to keep the trailer with a boat on it. Anyway, having no driveway or garage, my 4.2 metre Tohatsu SIB lives in a big box in the garden and goes in the back of the 1.4 litre Vauxhall Astra, so not the biggest car. It comes in 3 main sections, the boat, the wooden floor and the 20hp Tohatsu engine, then all the peripheral bits (fuel, paddles, lunch) fit around it. We have got the assembly down to about 20 mins and use a 12v pump from the car's cigar lighter. If I packed it really well there would still be 3 seats in the car rather than the usual two front ones. I must admit it's easier when we use my Dad's Volvo estate, but even so I won't be getting a trailer any time soon! The picture in the car boot is with the old 4.6 Avon and old Evinrude, but you get the idea.
Happy packing!
MT

I have a Zody 285 with wooden floor and speed hull, 8HP mariner, seat, seat bag and bow bag with life jackets X3 and paddles, oh and launch wheels.
All fit into the boot of the XJ6.
The 30 litre fuel tank sits in the rear footwell.
As you say......easier packing dry than wet!

I'm a bit of a stuck record on this subject chaps but once you have tried it inflated on the roof not many would go back to all the inflating/assembly/de-flating/packing/inflating for cleaning/drying/deflating/packing..... SIB's are great for packing away in the boot for a long journey on holiday or whatever or freeing up space in the garage in the winter but for weekly use in the season roof top carrrying is soooo much easier, quicker and convenient in so many ways.

I have a Mazda 6 estate and I just roll up the zodiac losely rather than vacuum pack the thing. Any MPV or estate will easily take a sib and outboard and gear.
I have an 80 mile trip to my fishing so I inflate/deflate each trip. I can setup my 340 completely in 20mins. Deflate takes slightly longer and is a pain in the arse after a long day on the water but I don't have much choice.
Besides its still quicker than towing a boat 80 miles each way and enables me to launch any time day or night from virtually anywhere.
