South Wales - lakes

Hi
Anyone recommend a lake where I can cut my teeth within an hours drive or so where I can use a sib?

Thanks

I'm not sure really but I Googled it for you and decided as a beginner you might be able to tootle around in Cardiff Bay. There seems to be quite a few interesting bits to look at.

I'm not sure how affected by Covid it will be though.

I just had a look about and yes it seems Cardiff bay may well be ideal. Access to the water via the Activity Centre slipway which as far as I can see is £15 for a day launch/permit.

Slipway Permits - CBWAC - Cardiff Rowing Centre

The bay should give more of a sea feel than an inland lake but still be very sheltered.
