Southampton Boat Show

As a newbie I've never been to the show and was thinking of going on Sunday. Is it worth it, is there much there for SIB's?

Are there trade stands and deals to be had or is it all big money stuff?

I'd say go if you haven't before. There are usually lots of SIBS inside the halls ( avon/zodiac) but I find a lot of the smaller stands have the 'small gadget ' type things that smaller boaters want/ need .

Portabel boating I think is making a big impact as people realise its as much fun in a 3m boat as 30 m one ( more fun infact & a huge amount cheaper)

And you can always look at the big RIBS in envy...( until you see the prices ) .

There are various RIBNETers going so keep an eye out - info under the 'cruise' section I think ?

I have posted some images on my facebook pages for everyone to see
http://www.c2ribs.org.uk/ at the bottom of the page is the link as I have struggled to link it for you

There are the usual RIBs and SIB on the ground an afloat. Definitely less chandlery but some good ones present with usual clothing and gadgets
Coastal, Ribeye, Ribcraft, Stingher, Cobra, Scorpion, Redbay, Suzuki, Honda, Yamaha, Mercury, C Fury, Zodiac, Avon, Piranha, Williams, Revenger, Brig. And I guess I missed some.

we went a couple of years ago for 2 days and still didn't see everything, well worth the effort, just keep a firm grip on the plastic or you could be very tempted by all the goodies
