Zodiac classic Mk2C. 3.8 meteres with 15 HP 4-stroke.
I consistently get 21 MPH (33.8 km/h) with 2 BIG adults, and lots of gear.
Have been considering upgrading the 15HP to a 30HP, and would LOVE to know what that would mean for top peed, and time required to plane (which is a chore with the 15HP)

That's a big motor for a SIB. I'd expect it to be faster than that.....

340 Airdeck 20hp Merc 4 stroke, 9.25 10p (std) 2 large adults, 18 L fuel, fair amount of gear - 37 km/hr.
Just got induction tach so WOT / pitch games can begin. May also try raising motor (want 40km just cause).

My 2.85m Zodiac SIB would do 14-15 mph with a Mariner 6hp 4 stroke on it, with two of us on board plus some gear. So I would imagine yours will do 16-18mph with a 7.5hp

Ash,
What prop are you using. I have the same set up (with exception of brand outboard 15hp Johnson) and I consistently get 21mph on gps and just once hit 22. If I am short changing myself at prop, it might be worth the price of admission. Is the 25 more or less consistent or a one time thing. I'd hate to think my Johnson is that weak (pun not intended, lol). I know those last few MPH are difficult.

Here is a hint for induction tachs - before leave home take them apart and seal them properly... was non-functional for this attempt.
However, on the water boat + motor + 300 pounds passenger & gear saw 41.5 km/hr. Max speed on GPS once home shows 45km/hr but it may not have turned off before being put away thus could have picked up speed on way home. So this means just have to try again Can say got a little bouncy above 40... good fun.
