SS Removable Rod Holders

Anyone used one of these on their SIB?
I like the idea of them being removable for stowing the boat away.

I have since mounted this onto the inside of the upper left corner of the transom and it works fantastically. I can run at WOT in choppy conditions with no rattling of the rod whatsoever.

I have fitted Scotty bait holder type rod holder to the rear bench seat. This way you can troll with the rod at the correct angle and its adjustable. Scotty's can lock into any position.
I have also fitted my fishfinder to the rear bench so the whole thing packs away and I don't have to drill holes in the transom of anything. Transducer is on a ali strut that clamps to the transom.

I think that's what I'm going to do too...looking at fitting 2 side mount brackets to the inside of the transom and 2 flush mounts to the front bench seat so that the holders can be moved as there is likely to be 2 or 3 of us at any one time.

I noticed Scotty do a PiranhaMAX mount holder too (I think it's number 274) so I'm looking at that with the PiranhaMAX 215

I just bolted my garmin ff300c directly to the bench via one hole with a wing nut so I can remove it. Cheaper and quick. Flushmount rod holders are pretty long - are you sure you want them sticking out under the seat? Scotty do various mounts that simply bolt to a seat.

Fair point. I suppose it would save me drilling a large hole through the seat.

My bench seats are aluminium too, so they are a lot thinner than the plywood type...I just thought they would be out of the way should anyone be sitting there without the holders in place...Those deck mounted ones look a bit uncomfortable.
