suzumar 3.5 with 15hp suzuki

ive just aqquired a 3.5 suzumar sib with inflatable keel and a suzuki 15 hp outboard...im hoping to take it out next weekend...what sort of speed will this outfit do,,and is it safe to open it up with just one person in it....thanks steve

Welcome to RIBnet Steve (please excuse the mess on here, but we have the decorators in , as it were)

One up, I'm guessing that you're going to see speeds in excess of 20kts. Safe? Maybe not, but you'll be wearing a lifejacket and a killcord, so who cares?

Two practical tips. Get your tube pressures right and use a tiller extension - you'll need to get your weight well forward on liftoff.

I'm taking it as read that you have your safety sh1t sorted.

thanks for reply.....i will test it next weekend,,weather and tide depending...hopefully will put some piccys on here , hopefully i will do better than titanic 2...lol....

sib been tested with engine.....absolute cracker and fast.......i am now going to sell as ive just bought a fishing boat and cant afford to keep both.....if anyone interested its £1200 for the complete package suzumar 3.5 and a suzuki dt15hp with manual and electric start...tiller control
