Brilliant stuff, I'm well happy with it. I'm out at the mo but I'll post a link when I'm home. If you do a search I'm sure I've linked it on other threads on the subject

Yes, and so does the oil if you're running premix.
The edges of the material have started delaminating on one of mine as well, leaving what looks like kevlar weave showing.
What fuel connectors have you got on them?

They came with STD Merc connector plugs but Turbodiesel mentioned that they leak when disconnected so I've replaced them with proper hydraulic disconnects.

Like the Tohatsu connectors? I changed mine to the old style merc bayonets on flexi pipe.I had Tohatsu connectors on mine to start with and they are a bugger to connect and seal if they get sand near them.

That's the ones. The new ones are smaller versions of what I've got at the transom of the Arctic. They were a pain because they only come with a female bsp thread so I had to get npt/bsp male/male adaptors. But I found with them on the whole was becoming way too bulky so I chopped the npt thread off the adaptor and welded it straight to the plug. I stick some pics up when I think of it.

If you get any problems with them, drop me a PM. I've got some of the old style female Merc bayonet that were made for the bladders-these:-

It cost around £250 to do the whole deck of the 470, not exactly cheap but not Skydex money either.
It's quite heavy, I think 25-30kg for mine but at least it shouldn't blow away or float around. I ordered cut to the right width so it's a nice tight fit between the rails on the hard deck.
I've got some small offcuts, if anyone's seriously considering it I can post them a sample.

Hi Martini
That looks like a very good set up..
I am looking to upsize my SIB to something more heavy duty and slightly larger (currently a QS 3.8 HD ) to take on more challenging journeys but having had a larger RIB, I still prefer the tiller sit-on-the-tubes feel of a SIB.
Your boat set up might be overkill for what I need but the knowledge that the kit won`t let you down and has been thoroughly tested is reassuring. I am very interested to know if the set up feels "heavy" under way, is there much tiller effort required (I am strong but like to go out for the whole day from the North Cornish Coast fully prepared) and how much effort is required to raise the engine upon beach approach ?
would 4 blokes be able to lift this set up and carry it up a beach a short way ?
Is there much protection on the undertubes for beach abrasion ?
many thanks and keep the pics/report coming..
sib

SIb, i've used the big brother to martini's and daily ran it on the beach multiple times, as long as the beach is reasonable (not slate shards, granite spikes etc) then its not a problem. Only time we split one was getting it trapped under a coral head at low water in strong tidal current
These boats are very tough.

I reckon those old bayonet connectors are the best fuel connector anyone has made so far. Definitely the easiest to use with cold wet hands.

I've just fitted the same stuff in BP, I got mine from a mate who has a fab shop, it's anti-fatigue matting for machine operators to stand on, nice & comfy . I saw some in Makro this week, £9.99+vat for about a 6'x4' ish.
