Tender recommendations

Hello all

I am looking for a tender to take me plus gear, plus others to a boat on a swinging mooring.

Tender would be kept in ‘Dinghy Park’ where they enforce a 2.7m max length allowed.

I was looking at Avon R 3-10’s where I could deflate the cones to cheat the 2.7m rule a little.
Fenlander of this chapter had one but advised the Avon’s tubes were small and boat has relatively flat bow tubes compared to modern day equivalent with a raised bow, so the Avon could make a wet ride in a chop. The river the tender will be used on can be choppy.

Don’t really want the extra step of inflating each time I go, partial inflate acceptable if it means making less trips for crew and gear.

Shortlist:
Honwave up to 3.2
Hyperlon anything but a dry ride
Talamax 270
Seago type
Avon 3.15 these seem to have a raised bow

Ideally a no frills, tough as old boots for leaving out in all weather and on mooring, dry ride and spacious big for a boat.

Anything else I’ve missed off the list?

Thank you

Noticed an Avon 3.1 rib wonder if that might deflated to 2.7!

If it's to stand upright in a tender rack, will the overall depth be too big because of the hull?

3D tenders are reasonable probably a bit better than the Seago type

Hi Yabba, hope all is well with you and yours. I wouldn't worry about my older small Avon comments in the context of nipping up river to your boat. I was really commenting in the context of self plus one or two and dog out for a few hours on the sea not wanting to be soaked through.

In a similar mooring situation and area to yours in my childhood we used a short plywood pram dinghy. Once that was loaded with two people and the kit for a long weekend there wasn't much freeboard.

Powered by a Seagull where there was enough water and me pushing while wading through the most shallow parts.

Twas hard in the old days.

I’d be tempted with a rigid plastic rotomoulded type tender, rather than an inflatable tbh. More robust, less likely to get vandalised, more UV stable.

I'd agree with this small ribs dont fare well being chucked in racks etc those rotomoulded things are pretty indestructible
