Tested the new Honwave T35 AE3

Now the weather is improving (it took its time) we finally got round to testing our new Honwave T35 AE3. It has the Yamaha 15 hp 2 stroke which is plenty of power but still quite light.

We were very pleased at how it performed and topped out at 18 knots with the tide.

Video below

Nice set up you have there and looks to be going well with the lightweight Yam 15….such sweet motors. [emoji106]
Also a fan of Ducksback covers.

Yes I think Ducksback are excellent. I know they dont last forever but for the money they are excellent. Nice and light also.

Yes I was very pleased with how that T35 Performed. Felt as big as the T38 inside to be honest. Now we just need a way to keep the dog still while on board lol

Nice video, great to see some drone shots of the SIB in action. Have you watched Budgee on YouTube? He has some decent videos, an interesting one where he flips his SIB towing a inflatable, lucky to get out of it relatively unharmed tbh, think he let the towing line go slack.......

Hello again. Yes I am a Subscriber to Budgee and he certainly has come excellent videos. I also like the one of him fitting the new Honwave T40 into his garage. He seems a lovely guy and I am sure I will meet up with him one day

For me the T35AE has been a benchmark SIB for over a decade if you want a medium size alloy floor model. Well made, roomy and stable.

Ours (12yrs ago) only fell out of favour as it was a daily inflate out of the back of the car. Because the floor was a pain to set up unless on perfect level ground and pinched fingers didn't meet with approval my crew soon went off helping and then I soon went off sorting it alone.

But for trailer use excellent value compared to a similar Zodiac at £700 more.

Yes for me the T35AE... is a SIB for trailer use and for 'Daily' set up it is the T38ie.... all the way..... Leave it inflating and walk away.

Also if you go 15 hp 2 stroke you will have plenty of power and not need to worry too much about weight. Even the Tohatsu 9.8 2 stroke works fine on the T38

The Excel boats are good but for me simply too heavy

Here is us setting up the T35

We did the whole of our 2023 Northern tour with the Tohatsu 9.8 2 stroke but now we have a larger trailer I will take the Yamaha 15 hp 2 stroke and the 9.8 I think to be on the safe side and have a spare

This is the real video of setting up the T35AE3...... Horrible compared to the T38 IE2.

Lovely boat once set up though
