Thames on Sunday
Took my new Sib out on Sunday, met up with my brother in law with his new toy!
Used the slip at Windsor, a very well set up public slip it is to!
Loading up the car, this I can do single handed!

Nick,
I'm thinking of getting a little SIB for tootling around. Would take me back to my start of boating. But when you think of all the hassle of towing and launching a decent size RIB those car roof mountable SIBs have got a lot going for them.
Glad you enjoyed your day out.
Nick.

Looks great - wheels are a godsend aren't they?
Bet it goes like hell - I have a 15hp on my 3.1m and that does almost 25mph. One thing that looks awkward are the strips on top of the tube - bet they make sitting on the tubes a right pain in the proverbial.......

Nick I have to agree I have as much fun in the Sib as the big boat!
Codders, the strips on top of the tubes are set out so far that they do not get in the way & they are quite soft & will fold down! Yes boat & engine only weigh 78kg so very light & goes very well.
Martin, do you have a rack going cheep?
Nick

The thing is a 3 meter or smaller SIB with a 6 HP motor on is still fun

Nick,
I am going on the Thames at Windsor soon - can you recommend any good pubs for lunch?

Not on this stretch but if you go up river to Cockham you have the Ferry with a slip next door! Also on this stretch Bourne End has a nice restaurant in the marina & The Bounty pub & more up in Marlow!

Hi Nick,
That looks like a great little boat - I'm looking at getting something similar to use on the Salcombe and Dartmouth estuaries. What size is the boat?
Alex

Hi Alex, it is 3.8m have just bought it to replace my yam 2.65 which was getting a bit small for the 5 of us even as a tender!
The Bombard is just the job & only weighs 42kg! I will be down in Salcombe on Sunday to give her a real test!
