think i need more weetabix

well were off to loch ken in sw Scotland for our first outing with the new (to me )zodiac fr for the weekend. and having just packed the trusty freelander I can say that I either need to go to the gym or get a 15 hp outboard because lifting a Yamaha 25 into the back seat of said freelander on my own was a little er entertaining it probably wont be too bad if I had someone to help but that feckers heavy and awkward . lets hope the weather up there is better than here as its chucking it down here . looking forward to getting back on the water again tho first time this year

25's are reasonably heavy, but well worth the effort when youre having fun!

Yep, I couldn't handle a 25 - going the extra 8kg from a Tohatsu 9.8 to a Mercury 15 at 36kg (lightest 15) is my limit. Even with that I now use a trolley to take it up/down the (steep/shingly) beach. Oh to be a weight-training twenty-something again!

The pressures are printed on a tab on each valve on Zodiacs.

cheers I found this out when I unrolled it had a cracking weekend the sun shon and the sib performed faultlessly. tiller stearing and a throttle that turns the opposite way to my motorbikes was a little un nerving at first but using my left hand instead of my normal throttle hand helped. and learning you have to crack it open to bring the bow down when your on your own in it or it just rides bow in the air was all a bit strange but I really like it and am really looking forward to a week back at loch ken end of june then a week at clachtol beach campsite high up on the west coast Pollack and mackerel fishing early august happy days

Thats a heavy outboard. A 2 stroke will be lighter.
