Thought on engine/boat combo.

Hi
I have a 3.5 Honwave ae very happy with it and am looking to up the engine from a 8hp 2stroke yam to a Honda BF15.
It goes well with myself and my son in the boat with the 8hp but add another person and it just about planes.
My question is would i be able to tow the boy (he is only 6) in a ring and eventually knee board (beach start) with the 15hp engine?
After watching a few vids of 3.4/3.1 boats with 15hp engines they look like they go great!
Obviously a 20 would be better but i have the chance of a 2 year old BF15 mint condition within my budget and with 3-4 years Honda warrenty still on it looks like a good deal.
Cheers
Paul.
