thru-hull install on a sib

Stupid question.
Is there anything that would require a thru hull install on the hull of a sib. Starboard side , just beside the the pontoon right before the transom .
Sib is a zodiac classic mk2c.
A mouse made a visit and put a 2" hole on the starboard pontoon and a small pinky size hole in the hull.

I will get the pontoon profesional repaired at the dealer where I bought the boat from .
I will request a d-ring patch. hopefully I will be able to make use of it.

I was thinking for the hull. Since I have a hole started , could I install a thru-hull transducer. Would the fabric be to thin or to flimsy? is there another accessory that I could Install?

Any other thoughts? or just best to patch the hull.

You could possibly be the first person to install a DVL on a SIB?

I got the side and bottom professionaly repaired . I asked about a d ring on the patch. The answer not recommended due to preferring less pressure on the patch is preferable. Patch repaired turned out real nice.
