Tiller extensions

My first trip out today in my new boatworld 330 pro with my yam 5hp 2 smoke after a bit of an overhaul.
Really pleased with it and got 13mph wot and a very brief 14, on a freshwater lake.
Nothing really to tweak except working out best way to deploy launching wheels when retrieving back on to shore (pneumatic wheels that want to float) but I definitely need a tiller extension.
Does anyone have any feedback on brands and lengths?
Thanks

I like a strong one even if it costs. Not keen on some of the thin alloy tube and plastic fittings with weak rivets. Re length they are mostly or perhaps all extendable. I experiment to get the right length then fix the tube with a bolt through because a twist to lock type might come loose. Having said all that the one I have left now I’ve (probably) settled on my outfit until I give up sibbing is older and all metal. I’ve cut it to the right length and it’s super strong.

Yeah it was the strength thing I'm concerned about.
Are there any particular brands to avoid and should I go for a fixed or extending type.
Full control of the outboard is paramount

I bought the fixed length one from Force 4 ( 66 cm). It is plenty long enough for me on my 3 metre Takacat. I felt the telescopic ones were too long for my set up, 80/110 cm, and 90/140 cm respectively. The fixed length one has two tightening screws to fix, and so far, has felt secure. I’ve only used it, so far, in fairly calm conditions, so can’t comment on rougher seas. It certainly helps to balance the boat better when solo.

Not a fan of them personally, so I sold mine.

Much prefer sitting forward, with my arm back holding the actual tiller.

Absolutely agree with the above. Mine is cut down really short and on the rare occasions I use it combine the long arm method with the extension.

It's different for those running solo on longer passages though where getting the trim right is important.
