Secure at the bow towing eye where the winch straps connects, but add another line as a break-away to the trailer itself, and tie down at the transom on both sides if there are U bolts there.

Wot he said[emoji106]
Straps over the tubes do a poor job of securing the boat to the trailer, & risk damaging the tubes.

For info only ..I pulled the front D ring off my Quicksilver 4.3 SIB by tying it down to the trailer in the manner suggested. That was after only a couple of tow journeys too.

I was extremely lucky I noticed the boat move and stopped before it all flew off the trailer. My SIB is not like a RIB with a solid hull and secure winching point. The Excel may have a better front attachment point than the Quicksilver so may not have the same issues I had.. but thought it worth mentioning.

The Excels as far as I have seen look solid built boats ..I suspect I will replace mine soon with one as my Quicksilver is 15 years old now ..and glue doesn't last much longer ?

i splice a rope through the two side rings then pull a loop through the bow loop that way the main pul is off the side rings with 50% pull through the bow loop, i keep my winch level with the bow loop and pull a ratchet strap down to the trailer to stop upward lift.
at the stern i had a ratchet strap through the two eye bolts on the transom down to a single point on my transom saver/pad. i found that two straps came loose and allowed the boat to move sidewards the single strap stops that but my bunks are flat so prone to allow the boat to move., ive since changed the strap position since i have a ladder & auxiliary engine in the way so it's now threaded through the engine clamp and down to the transom pad point.
ive done it this way on all my sibs and winch the boat on most times and never had a bow ring part

I had my Quicksilver tied that way when the front one came off HH. Its only a metal D ring held to the hull with two layers of PVC on the quicksilver ..the PVC layers tore.

Jeff..that was possibly why mine tore..I had it tied down to the drawbar..not level to the winchpost. So saying it has been strapped to the trailer as Keltoyboy shows..for 14 years and no sign of damage..I guess Im lucky though as I appreciate everyone advises against it

I must admit the very first Excel Vanguard I saw really impressed me .. and I think it impressed Jeff too ..they are lovely looking boats to my eye ..and Im sure you will be delighted with yours Keltoyboy

I want a yellow one ..or a grey one .. although I appreciate I have to like black too and cant say your black one was slower HH... as its not politically correct nowadays

Thanks for the advice gents but don’t have the eye bolts fitted at the rear just yet, not sure i would trust the eye on the front either as the roads I’ll be towing on may not be as good as the Uk ones, anyone who has been to the west of Ireland will understand.

Enquired after a Volaire 430 in light grey. Greeted with a look of astonishment as why not black, followed by at least a 9 month wait for a grey one.

Despite the Volaire’s air floor being an outright Chinese copy of the Russian Solar boats, denied all knowledge of ever having heard of these. Reckon the Ruskies’ have been a bit lax in the patents dept!!

In reality the Volaires a decent boat, albeit more utilitarian in the flesh with faceted tubes rather than curved as shown on the website....why such discrepancies?

Walked away in the end.
Your comments are un-necessarily negative and somewhat inaccurate.

There are always an average 12 boats on display in the showroom which also houses many boxes versions, an average of 150 in stock. Outside is a typical boatyard . In 16 years i have never received any comments about the yard.

The curved tube design was the first generation Volaire being replaced by the current model in 2019. A development not a discrepancy which i could have advised if you asked during your visit.

The Volaire range has been aimed at the Emergency Servicies and Military market, never been marketed to the recreational sector but is is gaining popularity

We have only produced in Black or Red to date. Producing in other colours is optional and i always quote 4 months. Excel is probably the only brand that offers bespoke options

Excels are a UK trademark, R&D is in house with our own production facility in S Korea.

Im so glad o bumped into this post.

Ive got a vanguard 435 in carbon black and have just bought a single console https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152689236810 to fit for next years usage.

For those who have fitted one,

how have you fixed it down?
how do you determine the final position?
