Titleist Toter

I have seen many devices to carry (tote) your out board and all have been decent, some very good, some cheap and some expensive.

Well in my youth I used to play golf (Badly) and remember I had a Titleist Turf Glider golf bag trolley. I hunted it out and after I had spent about 15 mins I recon I have a very good folding light weight outboard motor toter.

So here is my folding titleist outboard toter

Cost to me was zero as I had the trolley and all the parts.

It is held on at the bottom by a bungee and at the top by a strap which I just had to extend the one that was already on there. A bit of pipe insulation as padding and a few cable ties and it is good to go.

Balance seems good and I think it will work fine.

If I wanted to play golf again it will convert back in seconds.

I like repurposing things.

I don't know why I did not think of this sooner so if you have an old golf trolley/cart you might like to give it a go. If you do post some pics

The mo0tor I have on it is a 15hp 2 Stroke and that seems very stable. I think much larger would 'Stress' this particular golf trolley but if you have a stronger one I think a 20 hp 4 stroke would possibly be ok

If you have to buy a folding golf trolley and have not got one there are some out there at a reasonable price you might try to convert. This one for example at £27

It does not seem like it will collapse to me. It seems plenty strong enough having towed it all around the garden. It actually seems a lot stronger and more stable than the purpose made one I bought that does not fold very well at all. The motor is also in a very good position to lift off.

The turf glider wheels also are good as they wont puncture and are quite wide.

Time will tell

My charity shop golf trolley got converted to drag my kayak around, I was thinking it might make a winter project to reconvert it into a sib nose trolley.
The only thing that concerned me was the wheels, they dont look like they are made to stand more than a heavy bag of golf kit.
Well done on the utilisation, mine could never go back to a golf trolley.

A heavy bag of golf kit is I think very heavy these days. Either way I think this is something that is best tried in real life tests in use rather than a lot of theory.

As I had it all for nowt I recon it is not much of a risk

Having previously owned a (fairly cheap) golf bag trolley and a (fairly expensive) modern 20hp 4 stroke, there's absolutely no chance whatsoever that I would trust that sort of set-up, and the only golf bag that comes anywhere near to the weight of a 20hp 4s would be a pro's tour bag that's NEVER seen on a trolley. ;-) Just sayin'

I reckon you,d look pretty stupid towing an outboard and sib round your local golf course ,we had a lot of lakes on our course but just used to carry one of those telescopic poles with a basket on the end

I don't know but I'm all in favour of these practical threads. It would be even more useful to have a comparison test of the holding power in a sandy bottom between a Titleist golf trolley and blue nylon Cooper anchor.

I'm free most of next week if you wish to do the test, but the comparison must be carried out under strict laboratory conditions!
