Tohatsu 30 issue.
Good morning all. I had a desperate call from a buddy stuck on the river yesterday who couldn’t get his tohatsu 30 2/S started after conking out. She ran fine for 2 mins then nothing. Cutting a long story short I attended to see if I could help. I managed to get it started on full throttle but all it would do was rev idle at full throttle and conk out once revs dropped, same putting into gear. Checked the plugs, swapped them with mine that were the same so no issues with the plugs, she had fuel too. The motor was only serviced 3 months ago so she’s been overhauled. With Bournemouth airshow looming and fear of not being able to attend or get his motor even looked at within the next few days does anyone have any pointers to look at?? The only 2 things i can suggest was either water in the carbs or the ignition coil pack has gone.
