Tohatsu SIBs....any thoughts

Hi all

Just had an aweseome morning out on my Avon S550 and am contemplating buying a brand new Tohatsu 4.2m SIB. Little bit wary though as I haven't heard much abut them. Has anyone had Tohatsu boats before? Any thoughts?

Either way, I will be buying a brand new SIB soon, so the venerable Avon will be on eBay before long.

Thanks

MT

I've had a Tohatsu 3m SIB with a Tohatsu 5hp outboard for about 6 years and it's been great. So far no leaks or problems - but it's now mainly used as a tender to the bigger (4.5m) SIB and stored (rolled up) in a garage when not in use.

I never found out who actually manufactures them however ...

Tohatsu engines are the same as mercury and mariner, so i might follow that a tohatsu sib would be the same as a quicksilver.

Just a thought.
