Yea but if your never done any scrabbling before I'd pick another route it's not for the faint hearted

Been up there, done it. It usually kills a couple of the unwary each year. Cracking spot if you can get op there. We once lugged tents, diving gear, food, beer all the way up to Red Tarn. There's a Mosquito bomber sunk in the middle, it hit striding edge on a training exercise in the war, slid down on to the tarn which was frozen at the time, it then sank in the Spring when the ice thawed. We ID it from a piece of the cockpit dash. The rest of it is still in there.

Actually there is a radio station that does regular weather updates for Helvellyn, if the weather is good then it can be done. And don't worry to much about the Death rate on Helvellyn... more people have died on the Yorkshire moors.

But are you insinuating that I have not done any before ? I have probably done more peaks than yourself although I have not been up Helvellyn before admittedly.
