I guess if you have checks/licence etc it makes sense to stay within the confines of the max rated hp for your SIB.

So changing the subject totally, is Connecticut a good place to holiday/tour in a mini winnie?

There really isn't much to do in Connecticut for vacationers, it's a pass through state. Boating and fishing are okay but not much to "visit". We are pretty close to a lot of other areas for fun. New York City is right next door and Boston is very close but you probably don't want to go to those places in a mini winnie. Cape Cod is about 2 hours for us, which have fantastic beaches. Maine is not too far either for camping and nature sight seeing. Acadia state park is amazing.

I guess it depends on what you want to do for vacation. I traveled around the country when I was in my 20's and each state has their own specific attractions. We didn't have much money when we traveled so it was all nature sight seeing, camping, and biking.

The upper mid west is my favorite area. The badlands of South Dakota are cool and different and Yellowstone is spectacular. The south west is also amazing with all the area around the Grand Canyon. Pictures don't do it justice. Those areas are "sky" country. Very few trees and not many lights from cities so the sky is bright and all encompassing.
It does take forever to get from one place to another out there so you need plenty of time. Especially if you want to stop in Vegas to make some money.

Thanks for the info babbot. Done a lot of touring in the States, West Coast, GC, Zion, Bryce, Yosemite, Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Glacier, Seattle, Portland, Cascades & The Rockies in Montana.
Never been on the East Coast or South. Probably got a couple of long trips in a winnie left in us before its too much like hard work so we want to make them count!
Keep us informed of your progress with your SIB and new 15hp OB.
