What rib/sib??
I’m looking to upgrade my current sib! I’ve now sold mine on..
I would like something in a 3.8 size and I I want it in black.
Strong and robust boat
Anyone got some ideas?? Recommended??

What is your budget? If you want another sib then the Bombard Commando C3 comes in black and is a robust 3.8m boat.

I’ve been looking at the bombard c3 actually looks like a great boat..
My outboard at the moment is so slow! Only a 6hp tohatsu 4 stroke!
I need something with speed and will handle waves in the sea!

Doesn’t a C3 have a rigid hull?? More rib than sib. At almost a 100 kilo’s she sure carries a krispy Kreme donut ass too. Sounds like the fella wants a power to weight ratio boat that’s fun and handles itself well in chop, in black the options are limited and a mouse fart will travel quicker than a 6hp on a 3.8. All depends what you’re intending on doing with your boat, personally a minimum of 15hp will keep you out of trouble and stacked with fat grins.

Was just think that...
Anything with a 25hp+ will be faster. Had a 25 on. 3.4m rib shifted ok....
Have a read here https://www.rib.net/forum/f50/quicks...tml#post820033

As mentioned, it has a wooden keel. This makes the set up fairly rigid but nothing like a RIB. The C3 can take a 40hp/ 98kg outboard. It would be quick and fun but only in calm water. A small, light aluminum hulled RIB may be better.

I definitely will be getting a faster engine 15hp plus for sure..
As for the boat I don’t mind a solid floor that’s no problem just something that will handle the sea! I’m not planning on going out on huge waves but I live in Portsmouth and would like to go over to the isle or wight.
Bombard does look cool..
I’ve seen a black boat called X PRO but only in a picture so I don’t know any other details not sure what that is?

these are nice boats but come at a price as does the C3
as pikey says excel come at half the price and a deal could be done.

Welcome to the forum Yobo.
Is your SIB used for average leisure use? If so pretty well all the main players under £1500 new price for 3.8m or so will be robust enough.... Quicksilver, lower end Zodiac, Honwave, Excel and so on.
You only need to go for something like the C3 (almost £3000) or AKA (over £3000 I reckon) if the need is commercial or professional.
I understand we all have our reasons for choices but I'd not be putting colour in the way of getting the best SIB for your money.
Will you set up each trip or get a trailer?

I found my Yam 3.83 with a 25 on the back a great toy - avaiable in any color, so long as you wanted Yam cream and blue!
restricting to black knocks out a huge amount of good boats as mentioned above, but what ever way you go, don't under power it.

yep well over priced but it is aimed at the commercial market as is the C3 you could look at the excel vanguard with speed tubes works out about £500 more than the basic model it has one pressure relief valve in the bow chamber.

It’s just for leisure around beaches and harbours.
It will be kept at home and blown up and down each use.. it maybe kept at the boat yard but not on a trailer

I understand these boats such as commando and x pro etc look the Nuts but I don’t think I need such an expensive boat!
I just prefer black boats to the grey etc.. also I definitely want a 3.8 so what power are we saying ?? 15hp -25hp 2 or 4 stroke?? I don’t want it to be slow and struggle..
