I've had a Saturn (12' Mars model) since this spring and it has been great. I take my wife and two small kids out fairly often and it's got plenty of space for us all. We use it for picnicking as well as fishing in tidal creeks and fishing near shore in the Chesapeake Bay. Do you need the extra space for stability, gear, another person, or what?

The nice thing about the Saturn budget boats is they are very lightweight, so they're easy to roll around and launch if you have a long walk to the water. But they don't have the extra PVC fabric on the bottom of the tubes or the rub strake on the keel. So if you have debris, sticks, rocks and other stuff in your lakes it may be more prone to puncturing and abrading.

I imagine the build quality for all of those boats is going to be similar, it's just what features and space you need for regular use. The Saturns are made in Korea and the rest I believe are made in China. I imagine you'd get the most support from Newport Vessels, Saturn, and Bris as they seem to be US-based companies/brands selling them after importing vs. overseas companies selling directly through Amazon or a third party website.

So you'd need to figure out how much fishing gear and other things you need when you go out, and what conditions you're normally boating in. One thing that was kind of annoying with my particular model is the splash guard and grab rope are at the very top of the tube, so gluing on accessories (rod holders, cup holders, etc) are at a slight angle vs. being perfectly vertical.

I'm not an expert, but I'd be happy to answer any questions as best I can.
