Whitewater Achilles Build

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum and quite glad I found it. I didn't see any posts regarding whitewater specific boats so I am going to post up as this project progresses. I have other river boats but this is the first river specific planing-hull build for me.

By whitewater I am referring to rapids in rivers, Grand Canyon style.
Build is based on an Achilles SU18 that I picked up two months back.
I have since mounted a 90hp 2-stroke Yamaha.

Way cool. I live in Moab and a bunch of us run 13-18' sport boats on the Colorado River. Your motor is too big and too dirty for the Grand Canyon, but totally fine in Cataract Canyon through Canyonlands National Park. Braappp!

Edit- I replied to the wrong person, sorry

Hey Solgear, you are right on. I am building it as a Cataract boat. I have been running a 25' snout the last handful of years but watching Jeff Campbell do circles around me in his DIB has inspired this build. I'll be in town for the week of Memorial to get it dialed in. I'll pm you my number.

Sounds like fun. We’ll be needing videos of it in action!
