Who else does a full circle?

Well here goes.
Started with a 2.3m slatted floor
Year later a 2.7m air floor.
Year later buy a 3.8m alloy floor
Year later go shares in a speed boat
Year later shares split and I'm back to owning a 3.3m ply floor sib.

Who else does mad things like this?

I still don't feel happy with this outfit. I think i now have the engine right 10hp 4t I'm happy with that.
But it's the fussing around with this wooden floor I'm not 100% happy with.

Would I be mad to buy a 3.3m air floor sib?
Few years since I lasted used one so can't recall how they compare to a more solid floor any advice? Air mat im on about not a air v-floor as I like my transom wheels and they wouldn't fit a v-air

I know what you mean about solid floor and the faff of fitting together, just started using a trailer for mine, still a pain but will persevere and see how au get on, I have a quicksilver air floor and to be honest is a lot easier to use

How do you think they compare when it comes to stability in the water?
I can no longer have a trailer as I mostly use it when camping so I tow a folding camper. And whack the boat in the back of the van.
But thinking air floor would make my life easier maybe even less cuts to my hands

I have the quicksilver inflatable floor and it's ok as long as it's pumped up to correct pressure and had a real hoon 2 up in Swanage a couple of years ago with a 15 hp on the back , also have a Avon 341 workboat solid floor panels with aluminium stringers and it's heavy, probably ok if there are 3 people to carry it and it feels more robust and solid, also have an Achilles 11 foot wooden panel floor which I am going to try out soon weather permitting, haven't made my mind up as to best solution, suppose it depends on what you use it for, if fishing I think solid floor if for ease of set up inflatable floor, I use my boats for river/ sea and just general mucking about, am going to try towing a kneeboard with the Avon this year with a bigger engine

Best of luck with the amount of brands etc that's available, I would probably stick with the well known brands, may be thinking of selling my quicksilver if you are interested it's a 3.4 meter

Ok will have a good think about selling as have been pondering this idea for some time, but like you not sure which way to go 100 percent, cracking video? Not sure 15 hp will be enough but have a 35 that might find its way on back of Avon, will have to take it easy on throttle tho

I think 15hp would just suffice a light kneeboard rider. That video wasn't wide open throttle on our 25hp It was pretty slow to let my mate with his 6hp keep up filiming.

Unfortunately we are all over 6 foot and and 15 stone so think 15 might be a struggle, fair play for keeping up with 6 hp, doesn't look that slow

Yep definitely escapism, like seeing places from the water as it shows everything in a different prospective

Rossy. What's the load limit on your camper trailer? I'd be tempted to put boat on top if you can - I'm not a big fan of kit faff and so would find having to assemble and disassemble would put me off using it.

Good point I could do that. But it's my storage at home which is more of a problem. Unless I left it inflated on the top.

Tilt bar position for planing

Would setting the tilt bar on the outboard fully forward help with getting a sib to plane? My idea is it would tend to raise the stern preventing it digging in, similar to having weight on the front.
Sorry meant to start new thread, cant seem to delete this

>>>raise the stern preventing it digging in, similar to having weight on the front.

Problem with that is once on the plane (if you actually got there) the bow would be ploughing into the water which in itself would absorb power and upset the way it went.

For this reason when you are trying to plane with an OB of marginal power it is easier to shift weight forward as required during the attempt to "get out of the hole" or "climb the hump" then if you get on the plane to shift that weight back so the bow is not hard in the water.
