Why are rubber pieces that attach to the transom black instead of white and also why

Why is the identification plate light blue instead of black

Why are the rubber pieces that attach the transom to the tubes black instead of white .

Is this normal ?

Notice how the ID plate normally on the bottom left is located on the top right. Also notice the black rubber vs one I found on the internet , where rubber is white.

Looks to be a mid 90's 310 Cadet Aero Fastroller

On my 310 Cadets the rubber is black.

I'm about to pick this up in the afternoon.

Fake ones didn't start showing up until they started making them in China.

This one looks like it's made in France.

You think maybe it got serviced.

Most likely .

I'm hoping that's not the case.

Strange.

Here's another angle:

Could the transom have been ripped off and re-installed backward? Would account for the wrong location of water craft identification number and why black tape was used.

This number is supposed to be marked on a boat in two locations. With a SIB with no seats, I suppose it could be etched into the fabric? (See attached link).

Compare the two identification numbers to see if they match, if you can find the hidden one. Research the water craft identification number to see if it looks legitimate.

Most definitely been repaired. Look at the large support patches at the top of the black transom cuffs. The gray cadets were never made with black cuffs nor did zodiac use a blue capacity plate on those models.

Every single person in this thread was 100% correct.

Transom was not only repaired but put on backwards.

Couldn't run away fast enough.
